Below are examples of different types of bindings.

Full leather binding with gold tooling on spine and covers

This book has had years of library damage to it. From the black painting on the cover, the old library tape on the spine and corners to the various stamps and stickers​ that has been placed on it. It was begging for a nice new binding in a complementary style to the original.

Full leather binding in the Cambridge style, "Miscellanea Curiosa, 1723".

This old binding did not even have both of the original boards still attached. If you look at the one to the right you can see the original cambridge panel. ​The boards were attached to the text block using old linen tape with PVA which is not a proper attachment method for this book. It does more damage than good.
